LAST MINITE WEDDING PLANNING

Let’s say your dream wedding venue has been booked up for the next 5 years? But your name is on the waiting list, so you could get a call at any time.

What if you get a call a last minute saying you got the venue, and it’s in 3 weeks from now? You’ll need to plan quickly!

First thing to do would be to hire a professional wedding planner.  She or he will take care of all the details that will slip your mind.

Determine your budget since you wont have much time to save. If you are short on cash, plan a fundraising party for the next possible weekend.

Invite the guest’s as quickly as possible. Ask a friend to help you call your guest or invite them via the Internet. E- cards, email, or even facebook my friends.

Hopefully you have your dress ready, since you knew you were on a waiting list and the call could come any time. If not, go to a local store or take a day trip to find a dress. Don’t spend more then a day finding a dress, you will need the time for other things.

It’s your choice if you want your bridesmaid’s dress’s to be similar in colours and styles. You could ask your brides maids to meet you at the mall and find a store that has a wide range of sizes and style because you simply don’t have time for alterations.  If this doesn’t go well, ask the brides to wear something of there own that they feel comfortable in. Choose the option that is most convenient.

The planning team will organize details like flowers, decorations, cake, food and gifts. Your job will be to make the final decision, this can be done quickly if you know exactly what you want before hand and explain it                                                  to the organizer as best as you can.

Ask your fiancĂ© to find a suit and to organize his groom’s men’s suits

Book your trial hair appointment for as soon as you can and book the actual appointment when you call for the trial.  Decide weather or not the bridal party will be joining you at the spa and account for those appointments as well. Book nails, waxing, and tanning appointments if necessary.

Find transportation for you and your wedding party. Book a hotel for the night. And last but definitely not the least. Book a last minute getaway honeymoon.

Remember this is a milestone in your life, so have fun and enjoy your love to come.

Top Honeymoon Destinations and Tips

ADVENTUROUS HONEYMOONS
The honeymoon is always the best part of a wedding in our opinion. It’s where you get to spend that special intimate time with your hunny and enjoy the beginning moments of marriage bliss.  The environment you chose to share these precious moments should be what makes you feel most comfortable; whether you decided to rent a cabin in the mountains during the winter season and snuggle next to a fireplace or lay on a tropical beach side by side while soaking up the sun.

The Top 5 unique honeymoon destinations include:
Deserted Islands in the Bahamas
Picturesque Tahiti
Untouched countryside of Austria
Romantic Puerto Vellarta, Mexico
Adventurous Southeast Asia
Check out http://www.ygoy.com/index.php/top-5-unique-honeymoon-destinations/

Some other ideas include:
Alaskan Cruise
Backpacking Adventure
Carnival in New Orleans, Brazil or Trinidad

DisneyWorld
Elope!
Go local – stay in your local city and enjoy it
Hiking Trail
Ice Fishing
Mediterranean Cruise
Nudist Beach
Rainforest Adventure in Brazil (Hoh Rain Forest II by ~hensler on deviantART)
Tropical Getaway
Wasaga Cottage
Wine Tour

Ways to fund your honeymoon:

Honeymoon registry (EndowThem.com Mockup by ~addEIGHT on deviantART)
Include the honey moon in your wedding budget
  Accept cash gifts at wedding
Stag and Doe (save money toward the Honeymoon)
What to pack to spice things up:

One piece of lingerie for every night/day (BOTH OF YOU!)
Gifts for each other – special little something to show your appreciation
Games n toys (if you enjoy that together)
Sunscreen, allergy pills and other medication (you don’t want to run the risk of illness and sunburn ruining your time)
Pack something that will enhance the adventure that you are engaging in. For example if you’re ice fishing get matching rods, or if you’re on a hiking or trail adventure get matching backpacks saying bride and groom.

A great way to enhance your honeymoon experience is to think outside the box and find creative ways to add to your experience. However we will understand if some of you just prefer to stay indoors ;-)

Trendy for 2011

Allow your self to be open minded and original when planning your 2011 Wedding.

Ceremony – Approaching weddings will take an outdoor spin. Although they are hard to predict, they are also beautiful, fun, relaxing. Remember that old barn on that country road you saw, with a beautiful overgrown pond and willow trees surrounding it? Vintage and historical weddings are taking a huge trend for 2011 weddings.  Recycling and wearing your mothers dress and driving a classic oldies car are great ideas.

Photography
– To create a rustic - chic feel, include old bikes, wallpaper and Victorian hats and gloves for accessories. Think 70’s Vogue.

Ceremonial Dinner - The menu should be traditional but presented in a modern way. Include country flowers, mason jars, and long rectangle tables to emphasize decorations. Details are very important so don’t be afraid to hire a wedding planner to help you.

Reception - One of the biggest 2011 trends is having hand made (by you of coarse) elements incorporated into the wedding. This is very economical and fun. Include rustic chic concepts, but keep it simple and pretty. Nothing like a good o’l homemade strawberry jam. Or check out this flower making blog. How to make Flower arrangements. http://howtoweddingflowers.blogspot.com/2010/09/wedding-flower-trends-2011.html

The cake - Cakes should always be tall and elegant but a huge trend for 2011 is adding natural flowers and fun frills.

MARRY MEH IN DA ISLANDS MAN!

Many couples dream of a getaway wedding but such dreams end with a small budget and reality check. But who says you can’t bring the Bahamas or Barbados to you receptions? With these few tips, you can create an ambiance of island glory.

Musical Touch: Having steel drum music to great your guest when they enter the reception hall would be a great way to start of the festivities

Cocktail Hour: While the both of you take time to enjoy your new precious moments as husband and wife, invite your guest to a cocktail hour with Caribbean inspired cocktails such as daiquiris, margaritas, coconut rum flavoured drinks and maybe a bit of Tequila! Definitely have the bartenders garnish the drinks lavishly with flowers and fruit.

Ambiance: Coconut and pineapple scented candles will add a gentle scent of the islands and a romantic glow around the reception hall.

Groom and Party: The groom and groomsmen suits for this type of theme can be light in colour and fabric. This can be a beige or white suite or the inclusion of a coloured dress shirt with a traditional tux.

The Bridal party:
With the bridesmaid dresses you have the choice of using ocean and beach inspired colours, such as aquamarine, different shades of blue and green. You may even want to consider the colour of a reef. As for the bride, simple flowing dresses that are romantic and sexy give the air of island romance. However, any dress will look great on an “island” :-)

CANDY-LAND FANTASY WEDDING

Two of my favorite things are bright colours and sweet treats. This fantasy wedding includes both elements with an elegant mood.

Colour Scheme and Dress
Enable to achieve a chic candy land theme, colour is very important. Choose 2 principal colours followed by accent colour’s to create the desired candy land look. I suggest using blue and purple for dress’s/ tux’s and for the main decorations (table clothes, chairs, ribbions). Bring warmth and character using pink , green and yellow for napkins, balloons, ect . This is no ordinary wedding, so for the bride’s dress, opt for something bold and beautiful. The bridesmaid’s will wear an elegant and unique piece.

Dinner and cake
To prepare for the sugar over load, serve a healthy meal consisting of raw veggies and protein. A great starter would be cashew butter on a Swiss chard leaf. Dessert is buffet style so avoid too much traffic during dinner and hire servers. Dessert is where the fun of candy land can be at its finest, have an array of candy in a buffet style. This will add fun and colour to the wedding reception and bring the party back to their childhood roots. Before you begin designing your candy buffet, an important thing to remember is that it’s an added expense and must be included into your wedding budget.
Cake will also be served shortly after dinner; guests may choose to have candy and/or cake. The cake can be as simple or complex as you desire. A white cake can be dressed up in lollipops, chocolate, jellybeans, caramel, and so much more.

Flowers and aisle decoration
Traditionally flowers are used to compliment the dress and wedding parties’ attire. I propose using bight coloured lollipops in different shapes and sizes. A thought would be to have the aisle leading to the alter as the boardwalk from the candyland board game. Avoid anything candy cane like, it’s tacky and to Christmas like.
Candy themed weddings are an excellent choice for all those sweeties out there. Recreate and enjoy your own stylish candy land wedding theme on any budget. Bye for now love birds.

THE ROCKSTAR WEDDING

Rock Star Wedding
As our first THEME we decided to pay homage to the quintessential Rock Star Wedding. Who doesn’t want an ultimate wedding similar to that of Tommy Lee & Pam Anderson or Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed? An ambiance filled with red roses, leather, electric guitars and chrome are the basic requirements to fulfill this fantasy. Here are your must haves:
Clothing:
Bride:  My ladies, when you decide on a rock star themes wedding; your dress style can be short, include leather or even be accessorized with black lace. We found a few dress styles that we think will help you determine what works best for you.
Groom: All rock gods stay away from the penguin suites. You will see them in maroon or navy blue. With a top hat and a ruffled shirt. Below is the Guns and Roses - November Rain Video which can provide some inspiration.

Music:

Be sure to chose a band that covers all your music requirements. Remember not all your guests will be as dedicated rockers as you so ensure there is a balance without jeopardizing the theme.

The Cake:

Pastry chefs are doing all sorts with cakes these days. Here are a couple samples of great themed cakes.
